How to Enable
- Open your form in the builder.
- Go to Form Settings.
- Scroll to the Languages section and toggle it on.
- Your form's primary language (typically English) is added automatically.
Adding Languages
- In the Languages section, click the Add Language dropdown.
- Select a language from the list.
- Click Translate to auto-generate translations using AI.
- Review and edit translations as needed by clicking on the language.
AI translation produces high-quality results for most content, but we recommend reviewing translations for specialized terminology or nuanced phrasing.
What Gets Translated
When you translate a form, the following content is converted for each question:
- Question titles
- Question descriptions
- Choice labels (for multiple choice, dropdown, etc.)
- Button text
- Placeholder text
- Welcome and thank-you screen content
Editing Translations
Click on any enabled language to open the translation editor. Each question shows the original text alongside the translated version. Edit any field directly and save.
Language Selector
When multiple languages are enabled, a floating language selector appears on your live form. Respondents can click it to switch between available languages at any time during form completion.
Browser Auto-Detection
NueForm automatically detects the respondent's browser language preferences. If a matching translation exists, the form opens in that language by default. The respondent can still switch using the language selector.

- Start with your primary language. Write all content in your primary language first, then translate.
- Review AI translations. AI handles common phrases well, but domain-specific terms may need manual adjustment.
- Keep text simple. Shorter, clearer sentences translate more accurately across languages.
- Test each language. Preview your form in each enabled language to verify formatting and readability.
